About Auntie Margaret International School

Auntie Margaret International School (AMIS) is a private school in Calabar, Nigeria. The school was founded in April 1972 with a nucleus of five children. The proprietress Late Elder (Mrs.) Obongawan Margaret A. Akpan was the only teacher with one family assistant.

The Academic Supervisor

Mrs Ivy Bassey Duke is the academic Supervisor of Auntie Margaret International Schools (Nursery Section). She joined the establishment in 2008.
This mother and quality teacher holds B.Ed. from the University of Calabar, NCE from Nigeria’s Training Institute, Calabar.

The Head-Teacher

Mr Abiyak U. Essien is the Head-Teacher of Auntie Margaret International School. He holds B.Sc. (Ed.) Chemistry from the University of Calabar. He joined the establishment in 1987 as a classroom teacher after the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 1986.
